Terrace Theatre and La Crosse Armory Featured in MNPreservation
PVN is excited to see two of our projects featured in the MNPreservation, a quarterly newsletter from Preservation Alliance of Minnesota!
The Terrace Theatre in Robbinsdale, Minnesota is featured in an article "Historic Terrace Theatre Fights for Its Life" that outlines the advocacy efforts of the Save the Historic Terrace Theatre group to prevent demolition of this iconic landmark. PVN has been working with the Robbinsdale Historical Society to understand the historic significance of the Terrace Theatre. Our research was funded, in part through the Legacy Amendment’s Art and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008 and administered by the Minnesota Historical Society. We prepared and submitted a National Register of Historic Places nomination. Our research and discussion of historic significance is found here.
The La Crosse Armory, located at 2219 South Avenue in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is highlighted in the article "Tax Credit Project Spotlight" as an historic building currently undergoing rehab and conversion into affordable housing with the assistance of federal and state historic tax credits. PVN wrote the National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Armory, and the building was officially listed this spring.
